Fashion in the USA! Trends for 2009 – 2010

In the United States, fashion is big business-and it’s ever changing! If you want to stay on the cutting edge of fashion trends, take a look at what’s hot. Fashion week in New York provided some insight into the hottest new looks and fashion trends for the coming year.

Zippers As Adding Zap!

It used to be pretty common to see lots of zippers on punk rockers, but now zippers are absolutely everywhere and on everything-and everyone! From dresses and skirts to bags and boots-and even t-shirts-lots of zippers are cool and trendy. And no, they’re not all functional. Many are simply a fashionable embellishment!

The Relaxed Fit Is Trendy

Skinny jeans are “out” and loose, relaxed fit jeans and pants are “in” this year. You probably won’t hear too many complaints about that, since they’re also a lot more comfortable than a snug fit! Loose around the hips, thighs, and legs is the trendy way to go-and topped off with either dressy or casual wear, this style can take you from daytime to evening, too.

Satins and Silks

Silk and satin are making their presence known this season. Silky dresses and tanks took center stage at Fashion week. Silk is no longer just for underwear! Make sure to add some silky pieces to your wardrobe this year, to help you create texture for your style!

Pink Is Still Perfect

Pink is defiantly the color for 09. The good news is that is a shad of pink for just about everyone. Women with olive complexions and dark hair look great in hot pink and magenta tones. Girls with lighter skin tones should stick with more pastel colors. This is a great time to show off your girly side and add some pink to your wardrobe.

Bulky Beads

Accessorize this season with super large necklaces. These are a great way to dress up a so-so shirt. Invest in some oversized necklaces in a verity of colors this season.

Jumbo Bags and Purses

If you’re one of those people who just has to carry everything with you-just in case-you’re going to love the trend toward jumbo bags, totes, and purses that is currently all the rage. Big loose styles in bold and beautiful colors, prints, and a wide variety of fabrics or materials means you can get a different bag to go with every outfit-or a single bag that goes with anything.

Neon Colors

The 1980’s were known for in-your-face neon colors that made a fashion statement. And that statement is making a repeat performance this year. Bold and bright fluorescent shades of pink, orange, green, and yellow are definitely in! Matched up with denim jeans, they fit in perfectly with the new vibrant casual scene.

Pastel Pantsuits

While black pantsuits have always been a classic trend-and they’re still great-the newest rage is all about pastels. Pale pink, lavender, light yellow, mint green, and baby blue pantsuits will make a splash this spring. So sweeten up your wardrobe with a little light color in a new pantsuit.

Bold Solids and Patterns

Like many of the clothing and accessories seen at fashion week, bold colors are currently very much in vogue. Tiny delicate prints are a little pass for this year but have been replaced with bold solids or bright chunky patterns in bold hues. You can also layer different pieces in bright colors to create a funky fashionable look that is fabulous with jeans or loose casual pants.
