Common Hypnosis Myths

I am going to give you some information about some rumours and myths surrounding hypnosis. There have always been debates going round about the authenticity of hypnosis. All scientists say that there is no solid proof for hypnosis.

A popular claim made by hypnotists is that you will not remember anything of when you were hypnotised. The truth is though that this rarely ever happens, sometimes hypnosis can result in a mild case of amnesia, but this hardly ever happens.

There is also a claim that hypnosis can help improve your memory. For example, people say that if you are hypnotised it can help you to recall a crime you were witness to that you may have repressed away. But, as mentioned above, hypnosis can make you lose your memory, not get it back.

Another example is the rumour that hypnosis can give you some sort of athletic edge. This it totally false, no matter what the media may tell you. It can’t be used to improve people’s physical strength, I twill only make you believe that what you can already do is better.

Hypnosis can be used for many things, but I think that the most popular way of using it is to aid with weight loss. The first thing you want to do when you are on a diet is eat junk – cutting it out will only make you want it more. Therefore, people believe that being hypnotised will make them forget their cravings.

As far as the different types of hypnosis go, again there are many, but the most popular is called conversational hypnosis. This works by you someone speaking to a person in a way that hypnotises them to bend to their will. You may have seen professionals put this into practice on TV.

There are many conversational hypnosis courses being sold these days throughout the internet. Some of them are very informative for beginners and with the correct amount of dedication to learning a complete newbie can grow to an intermediate level of hypnosis skills. Unfortunately because there is a market for these kinds of courses it has also paved the way for some bogus products from people that are looking to make some quick money from a hungry market.

  1. Very informative article.

The myths that surround hypnosis tend to put many people off trying it form themselves.

If they knew what hypnosis was actually like I’m sure more people would use it to improve their life.
