Its easy to walk about day after day without a second thought about your health, but you do not have to feel sick for there to be a problem. Blood pressure is one of those health issues that seems to go unchecked and I should know because I never got mine checked and it was high without my knowledge, there are plenty more walking around with the same condition.
Why not buy yourself your own blood pressure monitor and then you can check your families as well as your own. A good Pharmacy will also do a check for you or there is always your Doctor, its only a quick procedure. Don’t wait for your health to be at risk before you think about taking this simple test, you can feel perfectly healthy and still have high blood pressure.
Some believe that high blood pressure only affects people as they get older, but this is not the case, whatever your age you can get high blood pressure. So what ever your age get it check at least every year, if you have high blood pressure then it will need to be checked more often even if you have managed to get it under control.
It is possible to lower blood pressure naturally through some changes that can be made to the way you live your life. So there is no reason to go straight onto medication to bring down your blood pressure. It can be changed with some effort on your part.
Looking at your present lifestyle with a Doctor may well show the areas that you can change to help in lowering your blood pressure. The things to look at are the kind of foods you consume and what exercise if any that you do during a typical day or week.
Take note of the recommendations that your Doctor has given you with regard to the changes that are needed to make a difference to your Blood pressure. This will give you the best chance of lowering you blood pressure and keeping it in the normal range in the future.
There are plenty of things that you may need to cut down on or stop all together, the main ones being alcoholic drinks or if you smoke then cutting down or if you can quit altogether, plus it is a good idea to take a look at and cut down on your daily salt intake. The rule of thumb is to try and eat a good healthy diet and do some form of regular exercise. All these things can bring down that pressure.
You owe it to yourself and family to take action on having a blood pressure check, so don’t put it off any longer. Now is the time to get it sorted and if your blood pressure is normal then that it great, but it will still be worth evaluating your lifestyle to see if you can make improvements any way. If your BP happens to be higher than normal then commit to the changes needed in your life and bring it under control.
