Many Americans wish they could change something about themselves. Such as being taller, shorter, or being richer just to name a few. There is a fine line between wanting to change something and having low self esteem. Having a negative or hateful view of yourself is associated with low self esteem. Those suffering from low self esteem usually look at themselves and others negatively, lack confidence, and perform poorly. Trying to figure out what percent of the population suffers from low self esteem is nearly impossible as low self esteem is related to many other emotional issues.
I’ve worked with a lot of people to quit smoking. In doing this, I have heard all kinds of reasons that it might be better if they kept smoking.
From pee-wee’s to pros, across the board, athletes get nervous. What if I mess up, what if I drop the ball, what if I look like a moron, what if we lose, or worse yet, injured! These are questions that run through all their minds. These thoughts can become so powerful and take over a players mind creating self sabotage. Everyone wants to be at their physical and mental best while playing their sport, but this can be difficult to achieve without help.

Stress can be defined many different ways. The most common definition is, stress is the body’s response to an outside situation in one’s life. Stress effects one’s environment, life and others around them in many ways. Sometimes these situations get the better of us and we have trouble dealing with the feelings of stress. You may become irritable, hostile, angry or overly sensitive just to name a few. Sometimes our physical body deals with the stress in an unhealthy way as well. You may have high blood pressure, become depressed, develop ulcers, or have a heart attack. It is important to learn what your stress triggers are and how to deal with both the triggers and the effects. Only by learning this will you be able to successfully manage your stress.
