It seems we all know someone who’s happy to share some strange little solution that they swear works for them. Solving restless sleep does come about for just about all of us at some time or another.
Do you suffer from leg cramping? Here’s what some suggest, and surprisingly, the report comes back pointing in the direction of success:
· Place a bar of soap under the covers at the foot of the bed. This is supposed to be a remedy for leg cramping. Does it matter what soap is used? No one seems to be concerned about it, but the general consensus points toward basic ivory soap. We say: use what you have. Just don’t go for liquid soap!
· Another leg cramping control is even more unusual. When you take off your shoes turn them upside down, so the opening faces downward. Is this to release the energy stored in them? Perhaps. Maybe it’s to keep energy from collecting in them at night. Some swear by this technique.
· General relaxation and comfort during slumber can be enhanced by placing a red string in a circle around the base of the bed. The idea is to sleep inside this unbroken circle. You can enhance this by placing little mirrors on the floor outside the circle, to reflect negative energies away from you. The idea is to create a protective space so you can relax and sleep more soundly.
· Dreamcatcher’s are an old Native tradition. The dreamcatcher is hung by the bed in a place that would also receive the morning sun. Bad dreams are said to be trapped within the web of the dreamcatcher.
